CONTACT YOUR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR and ask him/her to unseat George W. Bush as President before Dec. 13, 2004
The governors in the table below belong to the Democratic Party, but their respective states selected, by popular vote, Republican George W. Bush in the 2004 Presidential Election. A popular vote is not mandated by the United States Constitution. The Constitution gives each State Legislature, and Governor, authority to select electors to cast what we call "electoral votes" on behalf of the citizens of each state. Therefore, it is possible for a sitting Governor, working with a State Legislature, to set aside a selection of a President reached by popular vote if that Governor so desires. Send an email to your Governor requesting that your state's electors for George W. Bush be replaced by electors of the Democratic Party who will in turn cast their electoral votes for John Kerry on December 13, 2004.

The Honorable Governor [add governor’s name] of [add state]:
As a resident of the state of [add state], and a registered voter in that state, I am extremely disappointed with the outcome of the 2004 Presidential election which gave a second term to President George W. Bush. I am also concerned about fraudulent vote counting practices which may be occurring at local, state and national levels. In particular I am concerned about the integrity of electronic voting machines and counters manufactured by Election Systems & Software (ES&S), of Omaha, Nebraska; and Diebold Election Systems, of Ohio. Reliable sources claim that the computerized ballot scanners and touch-screen voting machines systems made by ES&S and Diebold recorded some 80 percent of all votes cast in the 2004 U.S. Presidential election. Reliable sources further claim that little or no quality assurance is in place to ensure that fraud is not being perpetrated against the public by one or both of the stated hi-tech manufacturers working secretly with corrupt elements within the local, state, or federal levels of government.
As you know, many citizens across our great nation are equally concerned about the outcome of the 2004 Presidential election, as are citizens of other countries around the globe, mainly because of the present administration’s war against Iraq which appears to have no end in sight. A few days ago, a young man actually shot himself to death at Ground Zero in New York City to protest the re-election of Bush. Many Americans are seriously considering moving to Canada, Ireland and other nations out of disgust, shame and fear of the present Administration.
I am sure you are aware that the United States Constitution does not mandate popular elections. In fact Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution specifies that each state shall appoint its electors who in turn vote for the President on behalf of the people of that state. What this means is each state Legislature and Governor has the power to appoint the candidate of its choice, regardless of the popular vote. In fact, many scholars would argue that the Framers wanted to avoid popular elections for the very reasons I have cited: fear of Voter Fraud. Since the popular vote has been drawn into question by the two previously stated manufacturers of electronic voting machines, it seems as though the popular vote—which is merely a tradition—may be failing the people.
I implore you to remedy the situation by setting aside the electors for Republican candidate George W. Bush, and replacing them with the electors of your own Democratic Party so that they may unseat Bush on December 13, 2004 when electors from all fifty states, and the District of Columbia, shall cast their votes for President of the United States of America.
May God bless this great nation and may He sent our troops safely home from Iraq to the love and warmth of their families in this land of liberty and freedom, a beacon to all who wish for a better world.
Yours truly,
