Encyclopedia Britannica 2005 Winks at Holocaust Revisionists

by Salvador Astucia, August 7, 2005

It's only a matter of time before much of the disinformation surrounding the official Holocaust story collapses completely. Western historians are forced to grit their collective teeth and write things about the Holocaust which they know are untrue out of fear of having their careers ruined by fanatic right-wing Jewish organizations like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Regarding the Holocaust, there are two main points of historical contention between conventional Western historians and a group which calls itself "Historical Revisionists." First, the Jewish death toll of six million has been greatly exaggerated, according to the Revisionists, who claim the number is less than one million. Second, the Nazis did not use gas chambers to kill Jewish inmates in prison camps, according to the Revisionists. Revisionists claim there were outbreaks of typhus which the Nazis actually tried to prevent. According to German chemist and Revisionist author Germar Rudolf, Zyklon-B was used by the Nazis as a non-lethal means of fighting lice to contain and eliminate an outbreak of typhus in Auschwitz in early July 1942. (SOURCE: G. Rudolf, The Rudolf Report, p 60).

Recently, I noticed that Encyclopedia Britannica had corroborated many of Mr. Rudolf's findings about typhus during the so-called Holocaust; however, Britannica's pro-Revisionist statements are not found under articles about World War II or the Holocaust, but about the disease itself, typhus.

The following is an excerpt from Britannica (2005 Edition) which is devastating to those who still push the official Holocaust story:

"At the close of World War I the disease caused several million deaths in Russia, Poland, and Romania, and during World War II it again caused epidemics, this time among refugees and displaced persons, particularly in the German concentration camps." (excerpt - Britannica: Typhus)

Britannica's description of treatment for typhus seems surprisingly similar to the research of Mr. Rudolf and many other Revisionists who claim the Nazis actually tried to stop the spread of typhus in Auschwitz. The following text is from Britannica:

"A vaccine for typhus was developed during World War II and is effective in greatly alleviating the course of the disease if contracted. The development of the pesticide DDT in the mid-20th century provided an effective means of preventing outbreaks of epidemic typhus, since this chemical is a powerful and long-lasting lousicide. It is applied directly to the clothing of persons at risk and kills the lice as they hatch on the person's body. Like other types of typhus, epidemic typhus can be quickly and effectively treated by chloramphenicol and by the tetracyclines. Despite techniques using vaccination and delousing, typhus is still an ever-present threat to impoverished and destitute peoples in many parts of the world." (excerpt - Britannica: Typhus)

The following is an excerpt from Germar Rudolf's book, The Rudolf Report, which bears a striking resemblance to the facts presented in Britannica, except Mr. Rudolf describes specifically how the Nazis used Zyklon B to stop the spread of typhus among inmates at Auschwitz, whereas, Britannica provides similar information in a more general manner, without mentioning Nazis, Auschwitz or Zyklon B. Still, the similarities between the two excerpts are striking.

"Initially, for disinfestation of personal effects, ordinary rooms (10 to 30 m2 surface area) were temporarily modified, by making the windows and doors as gas-tight as possible by means of felt sealant material and paper strips, while providing for proper heating and ventilation of the rooms. Workers wearing gas masks spread Zyklon B evenly on the floor of the room containing the property to be disinfested. This procedure was similar to what was then the regular fumigation of ordinary rooms for the destruction of vermin. [The word "vermin refers to real rats & mice, not a particular ethnic group.] Such converted rooms may be seen even today in the main camp of Auschwitz I. The use of temporary sealed rooms for fumigation purposes is not without risk since the sealing is never perfect." (G. Rudolf, The Rudolf Report, p 63)

Encyclopedia Britannica is apparently finding it difficult to continue pushing the official Holocaust story and maintain their credibility, particularly with the advent of the Internet, which has pounded the official Holocaust story relentlessly. Britannica's typhus article was apparently not intended to be read by people with an interest in the Holocaust. Nevertheless, facts are facts. Many people believe that when the full story about the Holocaust becomes generally accepted, it will be the beginning of the end for Israel because right-wing Jews will no longer be able to manipulate more liberal-minded Jews about Hitler and the Holocaust, a topic that binds most Jews together.
