Cheney Issues Public Threat to American Public and Critics of 911

by Salvador Astucia, May 20, 2002

Yesterday Vice President Richard Cheney issued, on Sunday talk shows (May19), what was tantamount to a threat to critics of 911, and to the American public.

"The prospects of a future attack against the United States are almost certain," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Not a matter of if, but when."

"It could happen tomorrow, it could happen next week, it could happen next year, but they will keep trying," Cheney said on "Fox News Sunday." "And we have to be prepared."

I ask you, what does he expect a typical American to do? What CAN Americans do? What purpose was served by Cheney’s ominous prediction other than to frighten his critics and the American public? American tax payers spend billions of dollars annually for a huge defense and intelligence apparatus. Yet Cheney expects American citizens to believe that the United States government is being held hostage by a sickly man wearing sheets living in a cave in Afghanistan. If Cheney truly believes his own paranoid ranting, he should check himself into the nearest psychiatric ward and insist that a team—not just one doctor, but a whole group—give him round-the-clock treatment for his delusions.

But frankly, Cheney knows his latest prophecy is a lie. This is demonstrated by recent articles about NORAD’s failure to protect airspace over New York City and Washington, DC on 911. Who does Cheney think he’s kidding? He and his thugs committed treason and mass-murder on 911 and this is their latest attempt to wiggle out of accountability for their actions. Cheney has resorted to issuing threats to the American public. Well here is a message back to Cheney from one of his most active critics:

Let the blood of all future victims be on the hands of the killers, not the dissenters or the truth seekers. I shall not cease or desist from my public statements no matter if you threaten my life or the lives of the American public. I am not intimidated by threats.

Upon reflection of Cheney’s words, Christians everywhere should recall the following words of Jesus:

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." (Matthew 7:15)

I further advise the American public to seriously consider the following words from Ecclesiastes:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: … A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

Article II, Section 4 of the US Constitution states that "The President, and Vice President … shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

I believe Cheney’s recent public threats against the American public warrant his removal from office as soon as possible under the guidelines of the US Constitution. He is a false prophet, a ravening wolf in sheep’s clothing, a traitor, a liar, and a coward. ª
