Bush has called Israel's attack which killed Hamas leader Salah
Shehada "heavy handed." Why? Civilians were killed.
It's regrettable, of course, when civilians are killed in a military
action. Don't forget, though, that the target of the Israeli strike
was a Hamas terrorist leader. Nine children were killed .. though
they were not the target. Compare this to the Hamas suicide attacks.
The very purpose of the Hamas suicide bombs is to kill civilians . and
the more children the better. The man Israel targeted and killed,
Shehada, was adamantly opposed to the idea of stopping the suicide
attacks on Israel.
Children were killed. That's regrettable. Blame Hamas, not the

d.. Dec. 2, 2001: On a bus in the coastal city of Haifa, 15 killed.
e.. March 9, 2002: At the Moment cafe in Jerusalem, 11 killed.
f.. March 27, 2002: At the Park Hotel in Netanya, 29 killed.
g.. March 31, 2002: At a restaurant in Haifa, 15 killed.
h.. May 7, 2002: At a pool hall in Rishon Letzion, south of Tel
Aviv, 15 killed.
i.. June 18, 2002: On a bus in Jerusalem, 19 killed.
The leader who planned most of these attacks is not food for worms.

justified. After all, how long is Israel supposed to sit on the side
