Add Rumsfeld to the Treason List

by Salvador Astucia, May 21, 2002

Matt Kelley wrote an interesting passage in a propaganda piece for Associated Press entitled Rumsfeld Sounds Alarm on Terrorists, May 21, 2002. Kelley stated the following:

"Despite the increased concerns, the White House said it is not raising the nationwide terrorism alert status because intelligence on possible attacks is too vague."

Translated into plain English, that means George W. Bush is unwilling to support Vice President Richard Cheney’s cowardly threat to inflict more violence on the American public if critics of 911 don’t stop writing controversial articles on the Internet. Bravo, Mr. Bush! Stick to your guns!

Although Bush has not supported Cheney’s call to arms against American citizens, the Vice President keeps getting more support. One has to ask: Who is the President of the United States? Cheney or Bush?

There was a time when I would have compared Cheney’s perverted lust for blood to Adolf Hitler, but now that seems highly unfair to Hitler. In his cowardly attempt to frighten the public, the barbarous Cheney is garnering support from a small band of select minions within his criminal enterprise: first FBI Director Robert Mueller gave his support, then two redneck Senators piled on (Bob Graham and Richard Shelby—the former chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, the latter is the ranking member of the opposition party on same committee), and today it’s Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The next question is when is George W. going to throw in his two cents? After all, isn’t he the president?

The "Treason List" (Point 9 from Breaking Ties With Israel - Recommendations) keeps growing. Just as I finished adding four names to it this morning, another more big fish—Rumsfeld—voiced his support for Cheney’s call for mass-murder. Add Rumself to the list.

Although Cheney, Mueller, Graham, Shelby, and Rumsfeld are claiming that another terrorist attack is imminent, not one shred of evidence has been produced to prove that such a threat exists from any source other than within the United States government itself. On the other hand, top-notch articles have been written which indicate that NORAD intentionally failed to protect the airspace over New York City and Washington, DC on 911.

Today Rumsfeld really laid on the bull. He stated that terrorists inevitably will acquire weapons of mass destruction from countries like Iraq, Iran or North Korea.

"We do face additional terrorist threats," Rumsfeld told a Senate committee. "The question is not if, but when, and where and how."

Rumsfeld said terrorists are sure to obtain chemical, biological or nuclear weapons through their links with countries trying to develop them. He mentioned Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya and North Korea as possible sources.

"Just facing the facts, we have to recognize that terrorist networks have relationships with terrorist states that have weapons of mass destruction and that they inevitably are going to get their hands on them, and they would not hesitate one minute in using them," Rumsfeld said.

Rumself failed to explain, however, why US military and intelligence services are incapable of preventing future terrorist attacks even though they receive billions of taxpayer dollars each year to defend the United States from foreign invasion of any sort. On what has Rumsfeld been squandering the people’s money? Clearly, Rumsfeld is either admitting defeat or he is trying to bully critics of 911 from expressing their opinions. If Rumsfeld truly feels that America has lost the war against terrorism, and that continued attacks are inevitable, then he should resign immediately as Defense Secretary.

Authorities tightened security around New York City landmarks after the FBI warned of uncorroborated information from detainees that sites such as the Statue of Liberty might be attacked.

In a shift from its previous refusals to give Congress certain information, the administration planned to hand over portions of a July memo from a Phoenix FBI agent concerned about Arabs training at flight schools. FBI Director Robert Mueller and agent Kenneth Williams, who wrote the memo, planned to discuss the matter in a closed-door briefing with the Judiciary Committee.

A Republican member of that panel said Tuesday that he would press Mueller to discuss why the memo didn't reach the top levels of the FBI or the Bush administration before Sept. 11.

"It isn't even necessary to see the Phoenix memorandum to question why it wasn't disclosed - to find out why the FBI doesn't communicate with the CIA,'' said Senator Arlen Specter, R-Pa.

Specter gained prominence after he participated in the cover-up of the assassination of JFK when he worked as assistant counsel for the Warren Commission. He wrote a fictitious account, known as the "Single Bullet Theory," which explained how a single hit Kennedy in the neck, waited in mid-air for FOUR seconds, then turned and created five wounds on then-Governor John Connally. Consequently, anything Specter says should be taken with a grain of salt. He is a known liar.

As I wrote yesterday, the best way to deal with guys like Cheney, Mueller, Graham, Shelby, and Rumsfeld is to have a quick trial. Find a sober judge, twelve honest jurors, a couple of cheap shyster lawyers, and commence with a trial geographically close to a tall tree with a long rope. It’s the American way.  ª
