Many people from all sides of the political spectrum believe Senator Trent Lott’s recent public remarks to retiring Senator Strom Thurmond were unacceptable, but Lott’s roots in political deceit are much deeper, and more malevolent, than merely endorsing Thurmond’s 1948 bid for the presidency at the elderly Senator’s 100th birthday/retirement party held in early December. Lott’s remarks about Thurmond’s presidential aspirations definitely revealed tacit endorcement of racism and segregation, but those politically incorrect remarks were only the tip of the iceberg.

Lott belongs to a powerful and elite right-wing criminal enterprise apparently active since President Kennedy’s assassination, and likely involved in that infamous crime as well.

Insiders in Washington, DC refer to this criminal enterprise as the "Old Guard."

The Old Guard is an odd mix of rednecks, ex-Cold Warriors, the Christian Right, Zionist Jews, and various members of the Washington elite motivated by greed and lust for power. Zionist Jews provide the Old Guard with vast power via the major media outlets which are predominately Jewish run.

A principal in the Old Guard is 90 year-old Admiral Thomas Moorer (retired), the man many believe staged a bloodless coup (aka, the Watergate Scandal) against President Nixon after Nixon established détente with China and the Soviet Union, withdrew all US troops from Vietnam, and ended the draft in America.

Renowned Washington Post writer and Watergate "investigative reporter" Bob Woodward is also a member of the Old Guard. Woodward worked for the Office of Naval Intelligence in 1969, was a Lieutenant and the briefing officer for Admiral Moorer. (per Colodny and Gettlin, ref. "Silent Coup,"pp. 69 - 71)

Other members of the Old Guard are Jerry Falwell, Kenneth Starr, Reed Irvine, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Seemingly liberal Jewish journalists Michael Isikoff, Walter Pincus, Sidney Blumenthal, and Frank Rich are also active members of the Old Guard.

The Old Guard has no tolerance for change, is driven primarily by antiquated Cold War ideology and fanatic Zionism. Its latest cause is the War Against Terrorism which was officially ratified with the establishment of the Office of Homeland Security as a replacement for Cold War intelligence apparatus. The latter was established by the National Security Act, ratified in the late 1940s, to fight the spread of monolithic Soviet Communism. The National Security Act created the Central Intelligence Agency as the "central" point for managing all US intelligence agencies regarding their respective activities related to the fight against Communist expansion. During the Cold War, the CIA was tantamount to the Office of Homeland Security of today. Both agencies were/are the embodiments of America’s foreign policy.

The CIA will continue to exist, but under the auspices of the Office of Homeland Security. Few people realize that the CIA was established solely to fight Soviet Communism. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the CIA has become an archaic symbol of days gone by. But the Office of Homeland Security has given the CIA, and similar intelligence agencies, a newly defined purpose.

The 9-11 tragedy breathed new life into the Old Guard by ratifying America’s War Against Terrorism as a replacement for the Cold War. 9-11 provided a new purpose for the huge intelligence apparatus that runs America’s foreign policy with lots of help from the Old Guard.

For the last four months, I have investigated the activities of the Old Guard’s participation in the murder of Vince Foster which was apparently done to thwart the Oslo Accords and destroy the Clinton Administration.
